3 Common Networking Mistakes

Posted on: December 21, 2015 Category: Blog

Avoid spinning your wheels and failing to capture hot job leads and key insider industry information.  Executive Recruiter, Bob Beaudine, author of The Power of WHO cautions against these 3 common networking mistakes:

“Mistake No. 1: You don’t ask for help.  No one can help if they don’t know you need it.

Mistake No. 2:  When you do ask for help, you ask the wrong people.  For some reason, people are uncomfortable asking their friends for help.  So they network with strangers?  It’s really not the best use of your time and energy to start having lunches with strangers or sending emails out to people you don’t know.

Mistake No. 3:  When you do ask for help, you ask too vaguely.  Even if someone is motivated to help you, they can’t do it if they don’t know what you want.”
