Personal Resiliency Assessment

Your Personal Resiliency is key to building career success.  It is the ability to overcome the greatest of obstacles from impossible deadlines, difficult working conditions to personal health and family challenges.  

As personal resiliency isn’t something we just have, it’s something we must continually nurture.  Review the following four areas to assess your personal resiliency.  Then, take a moment to identify the areas you most want to strengthen and strategize what you need to do to improve your personal resiliency and capacity.

HEALTH

Everyday are you taking a mental break to breathe & reset? Yes / No

Are you eating healthy meals and snacks?  Yes / No

Do you drink enough water every day? Yes / No

Are you drinking more alcohol or taking more drugs to cope? Yes / No

Are you getting enough sleep? Yes / No

Do you do some form of daily exercise or movement? Yes / No

Action Item – Select one of the above areas you want to strengthen.  Then identify one thing you can do starting today to strengthen this area: 

CAREER

Are you coping well with the day to day demands of your role? Yes / No         

Are you feeling overwhelmed? Yes / No

Are you feeling strong and capable to do your work, versus overwhelmed? Yes / No

Are you able to make decisions to shift & improve things at work? Yes / No

Do you have the right tools & resources to do your job? Yes / No

Do you feel confident when making decisions?  Yes / No

Do you feel secure in your job, versus concerned about losing your job? Yes / No

Action Item – Select one of the above areas you want to strengthen.  Then identify one thing you can do starting today to strengthen this area:

RELATIONSHIPS

Have your personal &/or work relationships become more challenging lately? Yes / No

Are you more emotional, anxious, terse, or angry when dealing with others? Yes / No 

Are family issues & concerns troubling you? Yes / No

Do you feel disconnected from your social network (virtually or in person)? Yes / No

Are you feeling isolated and alone? Yes / No

Do you have at least one person you can talk with about how you are feeling? Yes / No

Action Item – Select one of the above areas you want to strengthen.  Then identify one thing you can do starting today to strengthen this area: 

SPIRITUAL WELLNESS

Are you generally feeling optimistic? Yes / No

Do you feel an inner sense of peace? Yes / No

Are you able to maintain a daily spiritual practice (prayer/meditation/mindfulness)? Yes / No

Do you go into each day with a sense of purpose?  Yes / No

Are you able to maintain a sense of compassion?  Yes / No

Action Item – Select one of the above areas you want to strengthen.  Then identify one thing you can do starting today to strengthen this area:
